But, why?

To get to the other side, of course.
Really, though, why? Really? Why not? Why take the more curvy, challenging road? Fun, and challenge - that’s my guess.
Also, deep-seated love of power toys. I remember his homemade 3-wheeler when he must have been perhaps 12. Also, vaguely remember the injuries from it, when missing the turn coming down their back hill and clipping the fence post.

I’m more asking why when sea-doos exist, as they would be far more maneuverable without the propensity to sink.

Why climb a mountain? Why drive a snowmobile across a lake?
BECAUSE IT’S THERE

Which is cooler to see hauling ass around the Nurburgring: A Ferrari 458 or a delivery van nailing the apexes?
It’s fun to see vehicles being used out of context. Mostly because of “ Why the fuck not?” .

Yeah I figured I would hear this, I just would be way paranoid about losing the skidoo to the lake.

I’m kinda with you on this one Sir_Stig. Personally if I were racing on water, I’d prefer the jet ski.

Physics’n’shit.
The other video on the youtube channel is even more nuts, with the endurance racing of these things.

I probably would never do it, but it’s a possible answer.

Understood.
It’s not something *I* would do... but my ‘cuz is good at it.
